Hoffmann, Irene Mary (LaPlante)*  
Irene Mary (LaPlante) Hoffmann age 80, of Indianapolis, died on June 11, 2016. She was born on March 10, 1936 in East Andover, NH, and was one of seven children of the late J. Benjamin LaPlante and Dorothy (Hersey) LaPlante. Irene was a graduate of Franklin, NH, High School and the University of New Hampshire in Durham. Following college, she was employed at the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington, D.C., and later, at World Book Encyclopedia in Chicago. As an Indianapolis resident, Irene was an active volunteer in the community. She received the Mayor's Volunteer Partnership Award in 1993-94. She volunteered for over 25 years in the St. Vincent Hospice Bereavement Department, facilitating the Rainbow Seekers Program for Grieving Children, the Daughter's Grief Support Group for women whose mothers had died and the Road to Healing Support Group for adults, as well as providing supportive telephone calls to grieving family members. Irene served as president of the Butler University Faculty Wives Club, and she served in various offices for the League of Women Voters of Indianapolis. For 10 years, she recorded books for the Indiana State Library Talking Books Program for the blind and physically handicapped. She tutored IPS students in reading for many years, coordinated the IPS Composition Readers Program, and held various offices in the IPS School 70 PTO. Irene developed and staffed the grief library at Brooke's Place for Grieving Children for 15 years, and she received their Volunteer of the Year award in 2000. Irene was a longtime member of several book groups, including the one at St. Luke's United Methodist Church. She also played volleyball and pickleball at the Riviera Club for many years. Through her participation in these organizations, she formed a number of lasting friendships. Her surviving family members include her husband of 57 years, George C. Hoffmann; her children: Jill Hoffmann (Gordon Strain) of Indianapolis; David Hoffmann of Lancaster, OH; and Karen Hoffmann (Jeffrey Schang) of Appleton, WI; her sisters Helen Duchesne of Bristol, NH, and Rita Norander (Robert) of East Andover, NH; and her grandchildren: Marie, Alice and Sharon Broadway; Sarah and Jonah Hoffmann-Weitsman; and Kayla and Dylan Schang and Cameron Schang Hoffmann. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brother, J. Benjamin LaPlante, Jr. of Franklin, NH; her sisters Eleanor Kehoe of Norwich, NY, Janet Mayo of Cincinnati, OH, and Margaret Paquette of Laconia, NH; and her daughter-in-law, Patricia Weitsman of Lancaster, OH. Visitation will be Saturday, June 25, 2016, from 10 a.m. till noon with services at noon at Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple. Iva L. Hubbard 85, of Indianapolis, passed away June 19, 2016. Iva was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jesse and son, Jimmie Hubbard. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Hubbard and Karen Hare (Mark); three grandsons, two great-grandchildren; and four siblings. Hung, Henry (In Memoriam)  
HUNG In Loving Memory of "Mr. Foon Ying" Henry Kin Chun Hung was born December 12, 1933 in Taishan, Guangzhou Province, China. He worked as a Foreign Currency Exchange teller in Hong Kong before immigrating to the US in 1967 with his wife Rose Sikuk Yu and 2 toddlers, Margaret and Susan. In 1972, they moved to Indianapolis where he and Sikuk  co-owned Foon Ying Chop Suey Restaurant until retirement in 1997. Famous for his secret egg roll recipe and recognized as "Mr. Foon Ying" throughout Indy, Henry worked tirelessly to achieve the American Dream. After Sikuk's death in 1997, he remarried Grace Huici Kuang. They resided in Elk Grove, CA with their son Jason until Henry's death on October 27, 2015. He was preceded in death by his first wife Sikuk and grandson Michael Fong. Wife Huici, daughters Margaret Fong (Peter), Susan Boberschmidt (Andrew), Rosemary Huff (Brian), son Jason, and 3 grandchildren survive him. Henry was laid to rest at East Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary in Elk Grove, CA on November 5, 2015. .

Mr. Thomas Lee Ingram, Sr. 77, passed away on June 14, 2016. He was a retired Baker from the Wonder Bread Company and had spent many years in the Construction business. William M. Johnson 82, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 16, 2016. Bill was born at St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis on January 1, 1934 to Robert F. and Alice M. (Bakius) Johnson. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Robert F. and Alice M. Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Myrna L. (Saffel) Johnson; stepson, Robert C. Saffel; sons, Michael H., Douglas W., and Gregory J. Johnson; grandchildren, Christopher C., Nicholas R., and Jennifer A. Saffel, and Todd M., Brandon T., and Damian R. Johnson; and great grandchildren, Braylin B. Tarleton and Maddison M. Saffel. Bill was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He owned Reclaimed Energy Co., Miller Industry Fluids, and Superior Oil, and worked for Indiana Bell for more than 30 years. He was the founder and president of Hillwater, of Monrovia, IN, and was president of the Overlook home owner's association. He loved fishing, scuba diving, and traveling. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 4-6 p.m. at Leppert Mortuary, Nora, with a funeral service on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 11 a.m., with burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
