Bowman, Daniel B.*  
Daniel B. Bowman 91, of West Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. He was born on January 7, 1924 in Frankfort, IN to the late Lloyd and Charity (Cornelision) Bowman. Daniel graduated from Huntington High School where he lettered in football and basketball. He received a scholarship to Kalamazoo College, but joined the Army when WWII began. Dan served in the US Army in the European and Pacific theaters during WWII. After WWII, he attended Purdue University and received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. Dan married Phyllis J. Purdy on February 11, 1950. Phyllis preceded him in death on September 10, 2012. He then served in the Army during the Korean War. After the war, he and Phyllis lived in Indianapolis. Dan owned his own bridge design build company for many years, then worked for the federal government as a building inspector. He was an avid golfer and has played the original golf course at St. Andrews in Scotland along with many others. Dan traveled all over the United States, Canada, Europe, Scandinavia and Mexico. He enjoyed reading, swimming, camping, watching sports, especially Purdue football and basketball. Dan was a member of the Purdue Alumni Association and Sigma Nu Fraternity. He is survived by his daughter, Christine Bowman (Todd Dobbels - companion), sister in law, Patricia (Purdy) Steele, nephew, James Steel and his wife Sandy and their two children Bobby and Jessy. Family and friends will gather on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Flanner and Buchanan - Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., with a memorial service beginning at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Wildcat Creek Wildlife Center in Delphi, IN, Wounded Warriors Project or to Purdue University.

Bridges, Ywanna A.*  
Ywanna A. Bridges 86, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 17, 2015. She was born January 19, 1929 in Whiteland, IN to the late Floyd E. and Mary Leota Baker.  Ywanna graduated from Whiteland High School and married Charles Bridges December 29, 1950. Charles preceded her in death, September 28, 2012.  She worked as an executive secretary for many firms including IBEW and Raytheon for many years. Ywanna was a longtime member of Meadlawn Christian Church. Visitation will be held Monday, April 20, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St., with funeral services Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Ywanna is survived by her daughter, Pamela D. Bridges; son, Richard D. Bridges (Karen); grandchildren, Kristina M. Saudefur (Kalup), and Adam R. Bridges; great-grandchildren, Charlie Marie and Harper Joy; brothers, Gene Baker (June) and Carroll Baker (Mary Alice); and a sister, Shirley Cox (Don).  She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Canady, Jackie Harold "Jack"*  
Jackie Harold "Jack" Canady 69, of Indianapolis, passed away April 11, 2015 at his home surrounded by his beloved family. Jackie was born April 22, 1945 in Kenvir, Kentucky to Arthur and Susie Canaday. He married Carolyn (Longmire) Canady in Sidney, Ohio December 23, 1967 and had two children. Jackie proudly served three years in the United States Army, and retired after twenty five years of service from the Roudebush V.A. Medical Center in Indianapolis, as a material handler. Jackie is survived by his wife of 47 years Carolyn; two children, Robert Canady, and Patricia Long; two grandchildren, Devon and Kayla Long; two God sons, Tony Merritt and John Hatcher, all of Indianapolis. Also surviving are Jackie's five sisters, Geneva Froedge of Indianapolis, Wilma Gross (Jerry) of London, Ky., MaryAnn Garrett (Dale), and Ruth Coffey (Earl) of Williamsberg, Ky., and Wanda Barton of Springfield, Ohio. In addition to his parents, Jackie was preceded in death by three brothers; L.B, Bob and Lloyd Canady; and three sisters; Gladys Rains, Dorothy Wynn, and Betty Penix. Funeral services for Jackie Harold Canady will be Saturday April 18, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Hendryx Mortuary, Cumberland Chapel, 11636 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN. 46229 with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial: Washington Park East Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.

Carter, David L.*  
David L. Carter 86, Indianapolis, passed away April 13, 2015. Born Nov. 19, 1928 in Indianapolis to Edward and Dorothy Carter, he was a graduate of Arsenal Tech High School and a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, where he served on the USS Parle Destroyer Escort. He worked at Eli Lilly for 40 years and retired from the ELANCO Division. Survivors include his children, Cathy Carter, Mike Carter and Craig (Karen) Carter; 5 grandchildren, Alex, Caitlin, Andrew, Chelsea and Ben and sister in law, Connie Carter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy L. Carter and brother Richard Carter. An avid golfer, he played many courses throughout the US and abroad. He and Dorothy were passionate about traveling.  They visited every state and traveled  world wide. He enjoyed sailing and was a member of Southport Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be Sunday, April 19 from 4:00- 7:00 p.m. and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Monday, April 20 at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135. Funeral Service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April, 20, 2015 at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Chance, Dr. Ronald Eugene*  
Dr. Ronald Eugene Chance 81, of Westfield, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Magnolia Springs Senior Living at Bridgewater in Carmel, and has entered into life everlasting with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ronald was born on January 17, 1934 to Maurice Donald Chance and Mozelle (Chance) Carson in Lapeer, Michigan. He was a lifelong resident of Hamilton County who graduated from Westfield High School in 1952. Ronald earned 4 degrees from Purdue University: A Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 1956; a Master's in Animal Nutrition in 1959; a Doctorate in Biochemistry in 1962; and an Honorary Doctorate in 1999 from the Department of Biochemistry. He was a member of Kappa Delta Rho social fraternity. Dr. Chance was a Lilly Research Fellow with Eli Lilly and Co. in Indianapolis, the latest appointment in a 36-year tenure which began as a senior scientist in 1963. Chance made major contributions to the scientific understanding of Insulin Biochemistry and Therapeutics, and revolutionized the treatment of Diabetes. He published widely in scientific and medical journals, and held 9 patents on Insulin and Insulin related technology. Ron is survived by his loving wife and family. He was married 53 years to Carolyn Allen Chance. His son, David Maurice Chance resides in Boone County with his family; wife, Jill (Spidel) Chance, and daughters, Nicole & Jenna Chance. Ron's daughter, Christine (Chance) Heald, resides in Fishers with her family; husband, Brett Heald, and daughter, Andrea Heald. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Services will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Westfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edwin T.
