Brown, Gladys I.*  
Gladys I. Brown 99, went home to be with the Lord on September 22, in her home surrounded by her loving daughter Debbie, her son-in-law, John and her beloved cat Amos. Gladys was born on April 21, 1917 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Amy and William Sands. She graduated from Washington High School and spent much of her career running the ophthalmology office for Dr. Cuthbert. She was a bright vivacious woman who enjoyed living life to the fullest. She loved traveling with Debbie and John, but her real passion in life was animals. Gladys volunteered for the Indianapolis Zoo with her sister Margaret, and she was involved with many local animal rescue organizations such as; Second Chance Rescue, FACE, and Cat's Haven. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Myron Brown, her son Denny Brown, and her two sisters, Minnie and Margaret. She is survived by her daughters Rosiland Foist (Gene) and Debbie Kirkham (John), 4 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She loved living at Olde Mill and cherished the friendships she made with many neighbors. Gladys was blessed by her Lord to have had such great health for her life. The family would like to thank the care takers from Visiting Angels and Great Lakes Hospice for all of their help and support during her final days and the wonderful care that was shown, the family could not have done it without your help. There will not be a funeral service held, but donations may be made in Gladys' honor to any of the wonderful organizations listed above.

Bruet, Michael James*  
Michael James Bruet 75, of Venice, Florida, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 after a four year battle with leukemia. Mike was born in Binghamton, New York on October 17, 1940 to James and Joan Bruet, who predecease him. Mike began his career at the NYSDOT in Binghamton and later moved to Syracuse, NY. In 1980, Mike relocated to Naples, Florida, where he began an illustrious career with Collier Enterprises in the division of land development and real estate. He also enjoyed working as a general contractor for many years in the Naples area. Upon retirement, he and his wife Kathy moved to Harbor Island, South Carolina, where they built one of their many dream homes together. After a year or two in the SC area, Mike and Kathy decided to move back to southwest Florida. There was nothing that Mike enjoyed more than sitting on his lanai, watching his beloved Atlanta Braves and rooting for his "hometown" Syracuse University Orange. Mike will be greatly missed by his love Kathy, whom he loved unconditionally. Mike is survived his children Stephen (Lisa) and Matthew, who will miss him dearly; his siblings Marie (Jerry) Jones, Dan (MaryAnn) Bruet, Marty (Patty) Bruet, Betsy (John) Foley, and Chuck (Ann) Bruet. He is also survived by his in-laws Stephen and Katie Chaleff, Karen and Ron MacLaughlin, Margie Camden and Sue Camden. Uncle Mike is also survived by his beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Chu, Dr. Shah, and the many devoted doctors at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes, 1301 Center Road, Venice, Florida 34292. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society ( www.lls.org ).

Bryant, James Edward*  
James Edward Bryant 86, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at his residence with his loving family by his side. James was the son of Eddie and Mildred (Dorsett) Bryant. He was born on March 22, 1930 in Indianapolis. James was a member of Southport Presbyterian Church. He was a retired Real Estate Agent. He owned and operated Bryant's Barber Shop in Indianapolis for over 25 years. As a hobby he became a pilot and traveled to many places including Alaska. James is survived by his devoted wife: Kay D. Bryant; they were married for 61 years; son: Douglas Allan Bryant; daughter: Kathy & James Shields; great grandson: Corey Bryant; seven grandchildren: Kendra Bryant Weilhammer, Krista Browning, Mallory Bryant Beavers, Erika Browning Tindal, Kelly Bryant Krumwiede, Blaise Shields, Lilli Shields; eight great-grandchildren; siblings: Tom & Judy Bryant; Janet & Bud Dudgeon; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Eddie James Bryant; granddaughter: Kari Bryant. On Wednesday, September 28, 2016, Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 7 p.m. at Southport Presbyterian Church 7525 McFarland Blvd, Indianapolis, IN 46237. Bryant, Mabel Isabell*  
Mabel Isabell Bryant 81, a long-time resident of the Irvington area, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 21, 2016. She was born March 31, 1935 to the late Jack and Buna Green of Tennessee. Mabel moved to Indiana in the 1940's and graduated from Arsenal Tech High School. She married her husband, James Barlow Bryant, on March 23, 1953 and delighted in living a simple, modest life while being a devoted mother and home-maker for her family. A steady believer in her Pentecostal faith, Mabel was fervent for many years to worship. Family and friends are welcomed for visitation on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Indianapolis at Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel, 5377 E. Washington St. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel with procession to her final resting place, next to her beloved husband, at West Newton Cemetery. Mabel is survived by her children, Jack Bryant (Susan), Joretta Hess and Debra Robinson; grandchildren, Jennifer Bryant Perdue (Paul), Jessica Bryant (James), Amanda Hansen (Tyler), Kristina Beach (Jason), Garrath Robinson, Hannah Hess, Mark Hash (Elizabeth); and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings.

John W. Bugg John W. Bugg, devoted husband to the love of his life Loretta "Freddi" (Bruzgulis) Bugg; proud and loving father of Sarah R. Bugg Duthie (Brett Kocian); Kathryn L. Bugg (Leonard Jukkala); and John "Jack" W. Bugg (Kaitlyn Bean). Devoted "Poppa" and "Grand Dude" to Charlotte, Leelyn, and Harper. Beloved son of Imogene (Adams) Bugg and the late Homer Stanley Bugg of Evansville, IN., and brother to Judith Osborne (Stephen), Bonnie Bugg (Bill Clark), and Steven Bugg, also of Evansville. He leaves behind beloved family in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Washington D.C. and Indiana. John died September 23, 2016. Born January 30, 1954, in Evansville, he graduated from Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis and built a successful advertising career in Lafayette, Ft. Wayne, Indianapolis, IN and Grand Rapids, MI before becoming Director at Crowe Horwath. He was a gifted artist and designer and Captain of "The Wench," the family's Albin trawler in Whitehall, MI. John will be greatly missed by his family, numerous friends and colleagues, and his devoted pug, Blingg. Visitation will be Friday, September 30, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Gothic Chapel at Crown Hill Cemetery; service and blessing will be Saturday, October 1, at 12 noon in the Gothic Chapel, followed by a private burial for immediate family members. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in John's name be made to local animal shelters or the Herron School of Art and Design.
