Al "Chip" Hoop

Chip passed away on January 17th in Portland, Oregon at age 71. He was born in Indianapolis the son of Al and Helen Biehl Hoop. He was a 1960 graduate of Scecina Memorial High School, received his BS at Purdue and MBA at Indiana University. He was married 48 years to Patricia Sauter Hoop raising a family in Indianapolis and Missouri and they moved to Oregon in 2008. His career was in medical sales, marketing and research, and he became a Licensed Tax Preparer in Oregon. Chip enjoyed golf, tennis, being a CYO coach, long walks on the beach with Patti, and he never met a stranger. He was a member, lector and volunteer for SVdP at St. Anthony Church in Tigard, Oregon. Survived by his loving wife, Patti; brother, Robert; sons, Brian (Kelley), Kevin (Michelle), Darrin, and daughter, Melissa Nulton (Jeff) and precious grandchildren Danny, Lucy, Quinn and Grace.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, March 23, 11 am at St. Matthew Church, 4100 E. 56th St. Contributions can be made to Scecina Memorial High School - /tinyurl.com/acoyy56
