Anita Joyce Partenheimer Dixon
71, of Carmel, IN passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012. She was born December 16, 1940 in Birdseye, IN to Joe and Nora Partenheimer. She was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Janet Lutes; and son, Mark Gregory Dixon.
She is survived by: her husband, Ray Malcolm Dixon of Carmel, IN; her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle DeAnn (Charles) Hirschinger of Carmel, IN, and two grandchildren, Whitney and Tyler Hirschinger.
After graduating from Birdseye High School in 1958, she went to work as an Administrative Assistant at the Indiana Civil Defense Agency in Indianapolis. After her marriage to Ray, she went to work as the Executive Secretary to the President of the National Homes Corporation in Lafayette. When their son Mark was born, she left her professional career to take care of her growing family. Besides being an outstanding homemaker, Anita was an accomplished self-taught landscape artist, especially of mountain scenes. She will be lovingly remembered for her love of family and church.
A memorial service will be held at the Speedway Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012. Visitation will be held at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg, IN from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon on Saturday, December 15, 2012; with the funeral service following at noon. Interment will be at Birdseye Cemetery in Birdseye, IN. All services will be conducted by Reverend Mona Cluff.
