Charles A. Fleener

86, of Indianapolis, passed away October 22, 2013. He was born June 26, 1927 in Oakland City, IN, to the late Denzil and Pearl Riddle Fleener.

Charlie was a graduate of Arsenal Tech High School, and he served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Ruby Smallwood, who preceded him in death July 21, 2008. Charlie was employed with Ford Motor Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1987. After retirement, he was employed with Shirley Brothers Mortuaries for eight years. Charlie was an outstanding man, and loved by all who knew and worked with him.

Charlie was a longtime member of Meadlawn Christian Church, UAW Local #1111 and Englewood Masonic Lodge No. 715, F. & A. M.

Visitation will be Friday, October 25, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel , 5377 E. Washington St. with funeral services Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

Charlie is survived by his son, Bill Fleener and wife Syndie; grandchild, Chad Fleener and wife Lindsey Brooke; great grandchild, the late Carter Fleener; grandchild, Stephanie Bowman and husband Ryan; great-grandchildren, Caden and Jackson Bowman.
