75, of Indianapolis, passed away June 22, 2013. He was born January 2, 1938 in Berwyn, IL to the late John O. and Elsie Mettke Huizinga.
Don earned his Master's Degree from Purdue University. He was an electrical engineer for Bell Laboratories and AT&T for 25 years. Upon retirement in 1985 he was an enrolled agent preparing taxes at H&R Block. Don was an active member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church and volunteered for various programs including Meals on Wheels. He was a life-long member of I.E.E.E. and Tau Beta Pi. He enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, running, skiing, golfing and photography.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25 with funeral services at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St.
Don is survived by his wife, Suzanne Huizinga; son, Dave (Kim) Huizinga; daughters, Sharon (Christopher) Shinkle and Kathy (Carl) Breving and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Huizinga.
