Donna Mae Phelps

Was born May 13, 1937 in Indianapolis, IN, to Clifford and Mildred Pearcy Crowe.

She graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1955 and worked for Eli Lilly immediately following. She was in the USO and entertained the troops at Ft. Benjamin Harrison from 1956-1957. She worked at Public Service Indiana in Facilities Services Administration in Plainfield from 1979 to 1994 when she retired. After retirement, she worked as a bookkeeper for MD&P in Indianapolis and Avon Florist. She enjoyed travel and people. She was a member of Avon United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy Phelps of Avon, IN; sister, Judy Edwards (Jack) of Indianapolis; two daughters, Kim McConnell (Mark) of Huntingburg, IN and Tammi Baker of Indianapolis; step-daughter, Kathy Khandaker of Bryan, OH; and stepsons, Greg Phelps (Keely) of Indianapolis and Tom Phelps of Angola, IN; 16 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 in Avon United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at Conkle Funeral Home Avon Chapel from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb 17, 2013. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
