Doris May DuValle Rasdall
93, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 6, 2012. As a lifelong member of St. Philips Episcopal Church, she had been active in the Women's Guild, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday school.
Doris was President of her graduating class at Crispus Attucks High School and earned both Bachelor and Masters degrees from Butler University and a Master equivalency degree from Indiana University School of Social Work.
She embarked upon her career as a Social Worker at the former General Hospital, worked as a Social Worker and Acting Supervisor at Flanner House and taught Kindergarten through Third Grade at Schools #64 and #60 in the Indianapolis Public School System.
She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Fortnightly Literary Club.
On Monday, November 12, there will be visitation from 11:00am - 12:00pm and a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00pm at St. Philips Episcopal Church 720 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street with interment at Washington Park Cemetery North, Indianapolis.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Walter E. Rasdall, Jr. (Diane); granddaughter, Dawn L. Bridgwaters (Thomas); six great grandchildren; one great great grandson and sister, Norma Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Rasdall, Sr.; grandsons, Mark and Hugh Rasdall; brother, Reginald DuValle, Jr. and sisters, Lois Bynum and Mary Emma Landrum.
