Douglas W. Parker

86, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2012 at 7 p.m. He was born on January 17, 1926 in Louisville Kentucky to Vernice M. and Douglas G. Parker.

Douglas worked for the City of Indianapolis for 38 years, retiring in 1988. He served with and was honorably discharged from United States World War II Army Signal Corps.

He is survived by three children, Andre E. (Parker) Johnson (Leonard), Karan V. (Parker) Stewart, Kenneth R. Bigbee Sr. (Dorothy) and one stepson, Jeffrey A. Sarver.

His legacy will continue with five grandchildren, Elizabeth Dozier, April Simmons (David), Camille McKinley (Edward), Michael Stewart (Jennifer) and Kenneth Bigbee Jr. There are also four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and his enduring life companion, Mildred Germany.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 starting at 1:00 p.m., with fellowship until 5:00 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Indiana Memorial Cre mation & Funeral Service , 3562 W. 10th Street, Indpls. Electronic condolences may be left at the webpage:
