Edythe F. Ritter

Edythe Fedele Sorensen Ritter

Of Zionsville, Indiana, formerly of Ft. Wayne, IN and St. Ignace, MI passed away February 20, 2013. She was born on May 4, 1921 to the late Albert S. and Anna L. (Johnson) Sorensen in St. Ignace, MI. She graduated from LaSalle High School, St. Ignace, and in 1945 married Walter Ludwiski, who preceded her in death. On February 24, 1951, Edythe married her husband of 65 years, Ralph Richard Ritter, in Ft. Wayne, IN.

Edythe was an avid reader, loved the Great Lakes, and loved spending her summers at her birth home in Michigan. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family and her church family. Edythe was a member of Christ Church, the Lutheran Church of Zionsville, and a former member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ft. Wayne and Zion Lutheran Church in St. Ignace.

Edythe is survived by her daughter Susan Ritter Haughton and son-in-law Max Haughton of Zionsville, her brother Rev. Paul Sorensen (MaryEllen) of Oak Creek, WI, and her large and loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph and her siblings Albert, Howard "Nick", Wallace, and Ardith "Nanny".

Visitation will be Monday, February 25, 2013 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Christ Church, the Lutheran Church of Zionsville, 600 N. Ford Road. A prayer service will follow at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held in St. Ignace, MI at Zion Lutheran Church, 999 S. State Street on Thursday, February 28 at 11 a.m., with calling from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
