Frederic L. Davis

Frederic Laurence Davis

94, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2013. He was born August 23, 1918, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Robert and Christina (Allen) Davis and grew up in Cleveland and Rockport, MA. He graduated from the Admiral Farragut Academy in Pine Beach, New Jersey, Middlebury College in Middlebury Vermont, and the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. Fred was a veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific with the U.S. Navy. After the war, Fred continued his service to his country with the U.S. Navy Reserve and retired in 1978 as a Lieutenant Commander. He had a long career with RCA as both a computer programmer and systems analyst. He was a long a long-time member of the Indianapolis Sailing Club. After retirement, he enjoyed sailing and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois "Suzi" and three children; Peter (Vickie) Davis, Lindsay (Noel) Burnham, Chris Davis (Sheila Cavanagh); and one grandchild, Davis Cavanagh. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Forum Healthcare Center for their attentive and loving care toward him.

A service in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at 1:00 pm at First Friends Meeting, 3030 Kessler Blvd., East Dr., Indianapolis with a reception following at 2:15 pm at the Forum at the Crossing, 8505 Woodfield Crossing Blvd., Indianapolis.
