James J. Rea

Age 85, of Indianapolis, Ind., died on Friday, November 30, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis. Born on October 29, 1927 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Pauline M. (Mormino) Rea.

He graduated from Cathedral High School with the class of 1945. He went on to serve his country in the US Army. He worked as an accountant at the Latin School of Indianapolis for many years. He was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where he was involved with the Catholic Youth Organization, Knights of Columbus and was a volunteer for many years with the Italian Street Festival.

He is survived by his sister, Catherine "Katie" (Ed) Lamperski; sister-in-law, Madonna Rea; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tony and Leo Rea; sister-in-law, Sara Jo Rea; and niece, Pauline Lamperski.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services , 1604 W. Morris Street, Indianapolis with a Rosary Service to take place at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 520 Stevens Street, Indianapolis with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Memorials in Mr. Rea's memory can be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. To all who knew him he was a man of kindness and goodness.
