Jo-Ann Heffelfinger "Jody" Grimes
86, of Indianapolis was born July 27, 1926 in Dallas, Texas, She was the only daughter of John M. and Charlotte (Brown) Heffelfinger.
Mrs. Grimes was a graduate of Shortridge High School and received her degree from Christian College, Columbia, Missouri. She earned her B.A. in 1948 from Butler University, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta.
A Christian, steadfast in her faith and an inspiration to her family and friends, she was a devoted member of Second Presbyterian Church and a tutor at Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was also an active member in the Indianapolis Propylaeum, Score Club, and Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Scott Grimes and grandson, James Dryden (JD) Wright. Mrs. Grimes is survived by her two children, Scott Grimes of Seattle, WA, and Catherine (Mrs. Timothy) Wright of Indianapolis, and by her grandchildren, Joanna (Mrs. Christopher) Knoll, Elizabeth Wright, and Scott Christian Wright.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on January 14, 2013 at Second Presbyterian Church, with a reception to follow.
