Joe P. Malston

Joe Prentiss Malston

September 29, 1928 - December 10, 2013

Joe left this world to rejoin his beloved wife Joyce leaving behind a very blessed family including his daughters, Bette Gumerson (Ken White), Suzanne (Rick) Ruth and Linda (Mel) McNairy, and their families: Grandchildren, Matt (Kelly) McNairy, Riley, Karly, Joey and Chase Ruth, and Tony (Rachel) Tuite; and 3 Great Grandchildren Anna and Matthias McNairy, and Zoey Tuite.

Joe was raised as an only child in the small town of Swayzee, Indiana. Following High School graduation, he enlisted in the US Army as a member of the Signal Corps. After an honorable discharge, Joe moved to the big city of Indianapolis and began working for Denison Parking where he met the love of his life, Joyce Dunkin. They were happily married for over 50 years.

After a successful career at Denison Parking including opening the parking garages at Market Square Arena and leaving as Sr. Vice President of Operations, Joe and Joyce moved to Moab, Utah to be with family. Joe loved his life in Moab and thrived as a tour guide.

Joe loved cooking, the outdoors including annual fishing trips with the guys, hiking and camping trips in Utah. Joe had a keen sense of humor. He was fiercely loyal to family and friends. His daughters are forever grateful the foundations of honesty, integrity and hard work that he instilled in them. They celebrate the reunion of their parents.

Visitation is at First Baptist Church, 8600 N. College, Indianapolis on Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 1:00-3:00 with a short memorial service at 3:00.
