John C. "Johnny" Rouse Jr.

Died December 6, 2012 at the age of 60. John was born on December 2, 1952 to the late John Sr. and Cosetta (Walker) Rouse in Indianapolis. He was taught at an early age to treat others as he would like to be treated, and to love and fear God.

John graduated from Harry E. Wood High School. He later joined the United States Navy. He enjoyed being able to serve his country. He served on active duty and received an honorable discharge from the Navy. He worked for Hook's Drugstore and later for Maraud Inc. as an electronic welder.

John enjoyed life and family. He was selfless and always putt others needs and wants before his own. He would often seek individuals in need to assist in any way to make life easier for them. John embodied the true meaning of Christian manhood, whether it was organizing a boys night to watch the game or helping his family. Surviving to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Tamalar; sisters, Deborah, Eunice and Paula; brother, Orrin; as well as a host of aunts, nephews, nieces, family and friends.

Viewing will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012 from 10 a.m. to Noon in Flanner and Buchanan - Washington Park North , 2706 Kessler Blvd. West Drive, funeral service will follow at Noon. Burial will be in Washington Park North Cemetery.
