Judith Dorris Jackson Davis

72, of Plainfield, passed away on October 26, 2012 in The Gathering Together House in Plainfield. She was born on August 1, 1940 in Highland, Illinois to Robert Lincoln and Mildred Edwards Dorris. Judy graduated from Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois and received her Master's degree from Indiana University. She was the widow of R. Dale Jackson. She married Frank Davis, Sr. in April 2012, he survives. She taught English from 1961 to 1993 in Wayne Township and at Plainfield High School. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Hendricks County Retired Teachers Association, and Plainfield Plus. She also volunteered in numerous community organizations and events. Calling Hours will be Friday, November 2, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hall-Baker Funeral Home , Plainfield. Judy was a longtime member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Ted Blosser officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. Survivors include her husband, Frank; children, Susan Harvey and husband, Mike, Steve Peters and wife, Julie; step-children, Doug Jackson and companion, Suzanne Steinger, David Jackson and wife, Rita, Debbie Everman and husband, Larry, Amie Jones and companion, Jeff Stevens, Scott Davis and wife, Mary, Todd Davis and companion, Atanacio Garcia, Frank Davis and wife, Stacey; sister, Marilyn Walker and husband, Larry; 14 grandchildren.
