Kenneth E. Mathews

91, Greenwood, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2013. He was born on May 23, 1922 in Madison, IN to the late Stanley E. and Cloris (Beasley) Mathews. Ken married Betty G. Sullivan on June 28, 1952 in Indianapolis, she preceded him in death January 27, 2009. Survivors include sisters, Constance "Connie" Everett, Avon and Jane (Gary) Bowen, Columbus, OH; brother, Larry (Rita) Mathews, Westerville, OH and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ina Marie Baldwin. His employment included Allison Gas Turbine Divisions of General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1986, as a test equipment design engineer. Previous employment included U.S. Naval Avionics and Western Electric Co. Installation Division. Kenny graduated from Arsenal Technical High School and attended Indiana University and the University of Wisconsin. He was a WWII Army Signal Corps Veteran, having served in the European Theater, where he received two Bronze Stars. Kenny was a member of Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church; Speedway American Legion Post 500; VFW Life member; Germania I00F Lodge 129 and past district deputy grand master. Service will be at Noon on Saturday, September 28 in Singleton Com munity Mortuary and Memorial Center , with visitation two hours prior to service in the mortuary. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
