Laurens Clark Hare

Larry was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Mildred Clark Hare and Robert Ritzinger Hare. He was the brother of Robert Ritzinger Hare, Jr., and Sally Hare (Fehribach), both deceased.
Larry graduated from Indiana University, serving in the navy during WWII and the Korean War. He joined Reader's Digest magazine in the late 1950s in advertising sales in Detroit. He became the head of the Detroit office before becoming the Director of International Sales in 1975. He retired from Reader's Digest in 1983.
He was an accomplished skeet shooter, golfer, artist, an avid reader, piano player, and political gadfly. He is survived by his second wife, Barbara Walker-Hare. He has two children from his first marriage, Laurens Tykle Hare (Lorrie Myers), and Laura Andrea Hare Lee (deceased), and two grandchildren, Rebecca Tykle Hare, and Laurens Alexander Hare. He also has three step-children, Barbara Walker Rushing (Nolan), Wythe Walker, and Brad Walker (Beth), two step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
