Mary Hankins

Mary "Evelyn" Hankins

86, of Carmel, passed away on December 28, 2012. She was born in Sellersburg, IN on May 21, 1926 to the late August and Mary Agnes Eckert. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education at St. Benedict College in Ferdinand, IN, as well as her Master's Degrees in Education Administration at Indiana State University and Theology at St John's University in Collegeville, MN.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hankins; 9 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include her daughter, Susie Hankins Crandall (husband, Ken); brother, Jack Eckert (wife, Mary); 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Danville, IN. An inurnment will take place in the spring in St. Joseph Hill Cemetery, Sellersburg, IN.
