Phyllis Eileen (Forbes) Walker, 85, of Paragon, Indiana, died Thursday, August 1, 2013. Phyllis was born Thursday, October 27, 1927, in Morgan County, Indiana to the late Otis Lindley Forbes and Blanche Elizabeth Forbes.

Phyllis graduated from Martinsville High School and attended Indiana University. She was a member of the Paragon Christian Church. She enjoyed a 30-year career at the Morgan County Public Library where she worked as the Bookmobile Director, Assistant Director of the Library, and the genealogy reference librarian. Phyllis was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Ten O'clock Line Chapter, serving as the Chapter Registrar for several years. She was an avid genealogist and enjoyed camping with her family, reading and nature.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Earl Lawrence Walker, and her step-mother, Reba M. Forbes. Survivors include her six children, Lucy Cabrera, Katherine Bertelsen and husband Jerry, Joanne Walker, Lee Walker and wife Sherri, Martha Brown, and Rebecca Walker; her brother, Robert Forbes; grandchildren, Heather (Cabrera) Lintz, Travis Lee Walker, Natalie (Walker) Vierling, and Justin Culp; great-grandchildren, Marissa, Adam, Case, Scout, Phaedra, Ena, and Ella.

Calling will be held at the Costin Funeral Chapel in Martinsville, Indiana from 2:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2013. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2013 at Costin Funeral Chapel.

Memorial donations may be made to the Daughters of the American Revolution Ten O'clock Line Chapter. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Harrison Retirement Community and to Phyllis' best friend and caretaker, Jan Malospiriti.
