Roger L. David

Roger Lee David

Roger was born in Indianapolis on September 2, 1942 to James E. and Katherine (Koch) David. He was a graduate of Southport High School and Indiana University. He was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity and represented his Brothers in the Little 500.

He retired in 2005 from the Disability Determination Division of the Social Security Administration. In his retirement, Rog spent many days at Smock Golf Course, where he was an active member of the Men's Club and volunteered with Junior Golfers. He also volunteered with the Audubon Society. He was an avid IU Basketball fan and also followed the Colts and the Pacers.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Darko); daughters, Dr. Abby David and Amanda (Thomas) Altstadt; granddaughters, Sophia and Daphne Altstadt; sister, Linda (Bill) White, one niece and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Steve David.

A celebration of life service has been scheduled on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. in G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, with memorial visitation there from Noon. Please join family and friends to reminisce and reconnect.

A Hoosier to the end, Roger elected to participate in the Anatomical Education Program at the IU School of Medicine. The family would like to thank Dr. Graham and the nursing staff at IU Hospice Care and Dr. Pizlo and the Interventional Cardiology staff at IU Methodist.
