Timothy "Tim" Joseph Monaghan

55, of West Liberty, KY passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY. He was born October 11, 1957 in Indianapolis to Audrey Ruth Amos Monaghan and the late John E. Monaghan.

Tim was an Indianapolis native and a 1976 graduate of Plainfield High School. He later spent 28 years in Palm Beach County, FL before moving to North Vernon, IN where he served as director of the Jennings County Emergency Management Agency and was also a member of the Red Cross Advisory Board. Tim retired to West Liberty, KY a year ago. While in Florida he worked as a Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician at the Palm Beach County Fire Department. He was the Lead Fire Services Instructor at South Tech Educational Center, Deputy Chief of Operations and Deputy Chief of Safety at Palm Beach County Community College. Tim was the founder of the Irish Fireman's Derby and he made Vintage Reproduction Fire Helmets.

Survivors include; his wife, Jennifer Monaghan and daughter, Hannah Monaghan both of West Liberty, KY; one son, Keegen Henschel of Bay City, MI; his mother, Audrey Monaghan of Indianapolis; three brothers, Patrick Monaghan (Robin) of Carmel, IN, Michael Monaghan (Beth) of Indianapolis, and Stephen Monaghan (Stephanie) of Clayton, IN; two sisters Frances Monaghan Ryan (Jerry) and Catherine Monaghan Bailey all of Indianapolis.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, John E. Monaghan in 2011.

The visitation is Friday, May 17, 2013, from 9:00AM to 11:00AM at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4217 Central Ave., Indianapolis, IN. The Funeral Mass, Friday May 17, 2013 at 11:00AM also at the church.
