Virginia A. Norris

Virginia Ann Cordill Norris

82, of Indianapolis, died at her home on December 31, 2012. Virginia, known to her friends as "Ginny," was born on March 21, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Robert Kenneth and Flora Brenton Cordill. She attended Shortridge High School and DePauw University in Indiana where she studied Romance Languages. She maintained a love and a talent for language and literature throughout her life and served for years on the Board of the Westfield Public Library.

In 1951, Ginny married James (Jim) Chestley Norris of Indianapolis. Jim Norris passed away just three weeks before his beloved wife Ginny of 61 years. Ginny is survived by: Constance (Mark Greiner) Wernersbach; son, Steven (Marsha) Norris; daughter, Carolyn (Mike) Lawver; 4 grandchildren, Gwendolyn Wernersbach, Sasha Wernersbach, Kaley Norris and Kelsey Norris and 3 great-grandchildren, Tristan, Sylas and Esther Wernersbach. Ginny enjoyed reading, trivia, the opportunity to visit unusual tourist destinations and she was an accomplished bridge player.
