Walter Carter, Jr.

69, Indianapolis, entered into eternal rest and peace on December 17, 2012.

A graduate of Wood High School he earned a bachelor degree from IUPUI. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the US Navy, who completed two tours of duty. He worked at General Dynamics and the police department in San Diego and Allison's, Ameritech's executive offices and Lowe's before retiring in 2004.

He was a member of Messiah Missionary Baptist Church and its security team, other memberships include the Masonic lodge, VFW and the American Legion.

On Thursday, December 27, there will be a funeral service at 11 am with visitation from 9am to 11am at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, 5640 East 38th Street with interment at Crown Hill Cemetery.

His survivors include his daughters, Karen Jo Carter and Kathy Carter-Woods (Shalom); son, Walter Brion Carter (Beth) nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister, Lettie M. Foley (Steven); brother, Johnny R. Carter (Stella) and special friend, Gladys Womack. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Patrice Robin Carter.
