William "Bill" Arbaugh Duncan, MD
October 26, 1930-July 30, 2014, a longtime resident of Hendricks County went to meet his Savior on Wednesday, July 30, 2014. He passed from natural causes.
Dr. Duncan was born in Indianapolis to William Henry and Florence Arbaugh Duncan. He is a graduate of Ben Davis High School, Indiana University, and Indiana University School of Medicine. Bill practiced obstetrics and gynecology primarily in Marion and Hendricks counties for over 50 years and was elected a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Duncan was also elected as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). After his retirement as an Ob-Gyn, he participated in a group practice as a Family Practice physician. With his family he raised horses, cattle, and sheep on his farm north of Brownsburg. Most of that farm is now part of Cornerstone Church.
Dr. Duncan served in the U.S. Army where he held the rank of Captain and was a Free and Accepted Mason of the 3rd Degree. He was married to Mary Branham Duncan for 52 years. She preceded him to heaven in June 2005. Dr. Duncan is survived by daughter, Kimberly Jones of Brownsburg; two sons, Eric Duncan of Virginia, and Kurt Duncan of Florida; and a sister, Barbara Canaday of Florida. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Mr. Jeremy Duncan of Virginia; Mr. Brett Jones of Brownsburg; Capt. Jason Duncan of Camp Lejeune, NC; Ms. Samantha Duncan Arnes of Arizona; Mr. Jon Hinkle of Virginia; and Mr. Jeremy Hinkle of New Palestine.
Visitation is scheduled from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Matthews Mortuary , Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 4, 2014.
