William G. Branson

88, of Indianapolis. Entered Eternal Rest Monday, November 28, 2011. He was born March 26, 1923 in Indianapolis to William G. and Nellie (Wehrel) Branson. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a firefighter for the Indianapolis Fire Department for 40 years, retiring in 1985 as District Chief. Bill was a 53 year member of Little Flower Catholic Church and most recently of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was also a member of Firefighters Local 416, Fatima Council of the Knights of Columbus, The Ancient Order of Hibernians, The Retired Firefighters Club, The Emerald Society and Pleasant Run Men's Club. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary Agnes (O'Gara) Branson; children, William G. Branson, Peggy (Michael) Beltrame, Ann (David) Ruhmkorff, Thomas (Karen) Branson and Rita (Larry) Parsons; sister-in-law, Betty Branson; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandson. Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Branson. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 3rd at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, December 2nd from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mor tuary .
