William L. Berner

William L. Berner

81, a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, passed away October 13, 2013. Bill was the son of Bob and Marcella Berner. Bill was a graduate of Purdue University, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked for several manufacturing firms in the Indianapolis area. Bill was pre-deceased by Joyce Berner, his wife of 57 years, and the true love of his life. He is survived by his son, Bruce Berner (Ethel Morgan) of Indianapolis; brothers, Dick (Nancy) Berner of Overland Park Kansas, Jim (Barbara) Berner of Anchorage Alaska; and his sister, Marcia Berner of Shelbyville, Indiana, as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill's beloved cats, Mac, Pat, Louie, and Itty also survive. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves an extended family too numerous to name that loved him dearly and will miss him greatly. Our thanks go to this extended family, the staff at Rosewalk at Lutherwoods, and Harbor Lights Hospice, especially Vivian, for their help and support. Bill is joining Joyce (and dear friends Craig and Lee) and they can all again create great meals to feed hungry souls. A celebration of life will be held at a later date once arrangements are made.
