William R. Klennert

William Robert Klennert

80, left for Heaven on January 25. He was born on April 29, 1932 to Robert and Margaret Klennert in Indianapolis, IN. He is survived by his wife, Mary Edith (Lee). They celebrated 61 years of marriage in July, 2012. He is also survived by a sister, Jeannine Dunn, and four children: Diana (Roy) Davis, Charles (Vicki), William R. Jr. (Jamie) and Joseph. Other survivors are eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Bill attended IPS #91 and graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1950. He was a member of Indian Creek Christian Church and past Elder and a Sunday School teacher. He was a 50 year plus member of Mystic Circle Lodge, No. 685, F & A M, a 32nd degree Mason at Scottish Rite, Indianapolis Valley, member of the Rite Men's Chorus, asbestos worker for 60 years, formerly member of Asbestos Workers Local #18, and a Scout Master. He was in the Naval Reserves for eight years. His hobbies were fine woodworking and building scales model airplanes.

Bill was a man of faith who served God as a loving husband, father and grandfather as well as a friend and mentor to many. A man of strength he never waivered in his faith.

A memorial calling at Indian Creek Christian Church, 6430 S. Franklin Rd., Indianapolis, will be Sunday, February 24 from 2 - 4 P.M., with a service following the calling.
