Young Holford Lang

95, passed away at his long-time Indianapolis home on July 11, 2013. He was born in Danville, Georgia on February 8,1918 and during his life, also lived in Tennessee, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Ohio and Indiana. He married Corrie Johnson on December 31, 1944. He served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant during WWII, before entering the Southern Baptist Seminary to prepare for the ministry. He served as a pastor for churches in Kentucky, Oklahoma and Indiana. From 1964 to 1974 he worked for Broadman Press. He later worked for the Allison division of General Motors in Indianapolis, retiring in 1988. He is survived by his wife, Corrie J. Lang; two sisters, Dorris Kent and Pat Aycock; daughter, Laura Lang Jay; son, John Lang; son-in-law, Brent Jay; daughter-in-law, Analia Lang, and three grandchildren, Sabrina Lang, Natasha Lang and Andres Lang, as well as a large extended family, residing in GA, FL, UT, TN, TX and HI. Visitation will take place in Flanner and Buchanan - Speedway , 2950 N. High School Road, Indianapolis, IN 46224 on Saturday, July 13 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a funeral service on Sunday, July 14 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to any charity that supports Alzheimers research, or either of two Cancer-related charities, STOP Cancer, or Pelotonia, Online condolences and a video tribute may be shared at:
