Wilhelmina I. A. van Thienen-Davis
76, of Indianapolis, passed away in the company of her children on April 30, 2014. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother "Oma".
She was a researcher at Indiana University School of Medicine for nearly 50 years in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Wil was born in Bussum, Holland, in 1938, and she immigrated to the United States in 1965 with her husband E. Jack Davis.
Wil was preceded in death by her husband E. Jack Davis, and parents Annie and Henk van Thienen. Survivors include her sister, Gerda van Thienen; her brother, Gerard van Thienen; daughter, Evelyn (Sam) Niemann; sons, Henk (Julie), Gerard (Loretta), Thor (Steffanie), and Patrick (Dianna); and grandchildren, Lauren, Samantha, Brooke, Eric, Madison, Hannah, Wolf, Holland, Ansley, Landen, Haley, and Corey.
A Celebration of Life Service for Wilhelmina Davis will be held at Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel , from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 with a Eulogy starting at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
