Barbara Rogers

Died on May 15, 2013. She had lived in Seattle for 3 years. She had fond memories of the Northwest since she last lived here in 1974. Barb and her husband had lived in the Indianapolis area for 30 years prior to their last move.

Born Barbara Ann Hill to Florida Power and Light Vice-President Richard D. Hill and Emma Morris in West Palm Beach Florida. Her parents were "pioneers" in Florida having moved there in the early 1920's. She was 16 years old when she graduated from Palm Beach High School. Upon graduation from high school Barb enrolled in John B. Stetson University in DeLand Florida. At Stetson she met her husband to be, Robert Rogers.

Her husband retired from the Army in 1974 and the couple moved to Indianapolis where Bob was professor at Indiana University School of Medicine. Barb lived in Carmel and later Fishers, Indiana. In 2010 Barb and Bob decided to move back to Washington State and chose Skyline at First Hill for their new home.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert E. Rogers of Seattle, Washington; son, Robert Rogers Jr. (Susan) of Derwood, Maryland; daughters, Stephanie Thompson (Bob) of Seattle, Washington and Cheri Heck of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Haley (Thompson) Ballast, Travis Thompson, Courtney (Thompson) deGeest, Chase Thompson, Ashli (Heck) Keller, Michael Heck and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned at 11 a.m. on June 1, 2013 in Trinity Parish Episcopal Church, Corner James St. and 8th Avenue, Seattle, WA at 11 a.m. Please sign Barbara's online guestbook at:
