Brian Bonsib Blackburn
June 6, 1964 - October 3, 2011
Brian Blackburn of Indianapolis, son of Delmere B.(late) and Sarah G. Blackburn, fought a courageous battle against cancer, but succumbed to the illness on October 3, 2011.
Brian was a 1982 graduate of Decatur Central High School, 1985 graduate of Vincennes University, former member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, project manager with Prime Technologies and Sole Proprietor & Principal Broker at Indy Asset Brokers. Brian served as a First Lieutenant in the Indiana Army National Guard.
Survivors include sons, Cory and Benjamin Blackburn; daughter, Christina Blackburn; mother, Sarah Blackburn; sisters, Delmera Sue Kernodle and Vera Jo Atha; brother, Patrick (Kim) Blackburn and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service celebrating Brian's life will be held at Life Church, 9101 W. 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46234 at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15th. Brian donated his body to the Indiana University School of Medicine in hopes of furthering a cure for cancer.
