Dave L. Cox Sr.
Of Indianapolis, died February 28, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 68.
Dave was born January 25, 1945 in Indianapolis to Robert and August Cox. In 1979 he married Margaret L. Coomer in Indianapolis. He worked as a journeyman book binder for 32 years at Rand McNally. He then spent 11 years as a machine operator for IPT in Greenfield. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. He will be remembered as the comedian of the family who enjoyed every minute as a loving husband, father, grandpa, and papaw. He will be truly missed and never forgotten.
Dave is survived by his wife of 33 years Margaret L. Cox; children, David L. (Dana) Cox Jr., Barb (Kerry) Kilgore, Mary (Jerry) White, and Bruce (Lisa) Smith; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Ransdell and brother, Richard Cox, and his dog, Lucy. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Smith; 2 granddaughters; sister, Lillie Mae; brothers, Evert, Robert, and Charlie Cox and his beloved dog, Turbo.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 3 from 2 to 8 p.m. in Flanner and Buchanan - Washington Park East , 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 4 in Flanner and Buchanan - Washington Park East, with entombment following in Washington Park East Cemetery.
