83, Indianapolis passed away on November 23, 2012. She is survived by her son, Stanley Ferguson; daughter, Felecia Manning; grandchildren, Mia Ham and Eric Ferguson and great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Ryanne and Jerry L. Ham III.
Delores was born May 30, 1929 and was very affectionately known to all family members and friends as "Dede". In her later years, "Dede" simply became Grandma "De".
Delores was a very soft spoken, competent woman whose accomplishments were many. Her work career started at the Army Finance Center and ranged from managing a Goodwill store to selling fine furniture, to a short stint as an air traffic controller. In between, she was a licensed beautician whose business was conducted out of her home. Although the youngest of the family, she took care of everything and everybody.
Of her many personality traits, her ability to chat stood out. Phone conversations were long and one sided. Face to face conversations were much the same. An occasional word from you was met with a blink of her eyes and a continuation of her conversation. There was nothing you didn't know about her life because she told you over and over again. It didn't really matter because her heart was always in the right place. No one had a bigger heart and the desire to always do the right thing and she did that right to the very end.
Delores will be dearly missed, and forever in our hearts. If there are any quiet people in heaven, don't worry, Grandma "De" will have a conversation with whomever will listen!
