Donald Ovid Lamport

80, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 15, 2012. He was born on October 6, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts, to Maurice and Donaldine (MacGibeny) Lamport. He is survived by his wife, Nancy K. (DeGraf) Lamport, his daughter, Ann Lamport Hammitte and her husband, Keith A. Hammitte, his son, Robert A. Lamport and his wife, Emilia (Lacatus), and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Lamport and Robert Lamport. Donald, a registered pharmacist, graduated from Ohio State in 1954 and retired from Pfizer (formerly, Warner Lambert and Parke-Davis).

Donald was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was active in Habitat for Humanity, the IMA Horticultural Society, the Lilly House, the Marion County Master Gardener Association, the Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana, and in fundraising efforts for the Castleton United Methodist Church. He was Past President of the Ohio State University Pharmacy Alumni Association, and an officer in his neighborhood association.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be a Memorial Service on April 15, 2012 at the Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel, at 740 East 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46240. Calling hours will begin at 11:00, and a brief service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served following the service. Entombment will be a private ceremony at a later date.
