Edward J. "Big Z" Zebrowski, Sr.

94, passed away on January 4, 2013 at the Prestige Centre in Mt. Pleasant, MI.

He was born on Mar. 27, 1918 in New Britain, CT. to Walter and Rose Zebrowski. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Biz Z moved to Indianapolis in 1962. He was best known as the President of Zebrowski & Associates Demolition and was a major part of urban renewal in the Marion County area.

Notable was the demolition of such landmarks as the original Marion County Courthouse, and the Claypool Hotel.

Biz Z was active in the Oriental Lodge #500 F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite Indianapolis Valley, and the Murat Temple. He believed in the philanthropy of the Shriner's Hospitals for Children and the Indiana DeMolay Foundation, supporting both during a large portion of his life.

He is survived by his son: Edward J. (Marsha) Zebrowski, Jr.; grandchildren: Edward J. (Michelle) Zebrowski, III, Jeremy Zebrowski, Alan Zebrowski, Cathy (John) English, David Zebrowski, Nancy Zebrowski, Vicki (T.J.) Richards, Lisa Hoffman, Jordan (Noah) Davis, Bethany DeLong; brothers: Harry and Richard, sisters: Jean and Cecelia, many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Daisy Jane Zebrowski; and step-son: Raymond S. Zebrowski.

Funeral services will be conducted at Noon, on Wed., Jan. 9, 2013 in Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Chapel of the Chimes , 1234 Prospect St., Indianapolis. Ed will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery. Calling will be on Wed. from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
