Edwin C. Kregenbeck

85, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 30, 2013.

Edwin was born on November 23, 1927 in Cleveland, OH to Charles and Augusta (Hinz) Kregenbeck. He graduated from Rhodes High School in 1945 and served in the U.S. Army as a radar repairman at the end of WWII. After moving to Indianapolis he worked as a book binder for Kriebel and Bates, then as a Tool and Die Maker at Detroit Diesel Allison retiring in 1985 as a supervisor. He was a jack of all trades who volunteered his time at the Sharing Place West. He loved to tinker and was a self-taught locksmith and clock repairman.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret (Able) Kregenbeck; son, Charles Kregenbeck; daughters, Ann (Larry) Love and Beth Saule; grandchildren, Heather (Nick) Sturgeon, Kyle (Shannon) Love, Joseph Saule and Luke Saule and great-grandchildren, Jada Love-Sturgeon, Kayla Sturgeon, McKenna Sturgeon and Karsten Love. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Kregenbeck and sisters, Ruth Smith, Lois Bates and Doris Polli, all of Ohio.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Conkle Funeral Home in Speedway. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. in Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, located at 9201 E. CR 100 North, Avon, on Wednesday, April 3. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Shepherd Lutheran Church.
