Gordon W. Thompson
80, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed peacefully at home on October 3, 2013. He was born in Indianapolis on March 28, 1933 to Arnold "Tommy" and Lillian (Bailey) Thompson. He graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 1951. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lisle Thompson. As a skilled watchmaker/jeweler and all around craftsman he worked for Windsor Jewelers from 1951 until he opened his own shop (Thompson's Jewelers) in Oaklandon in 1974. As a 5th generation watchmaker Gordon was trained by his father. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; four sons, Curtis (Teresa), Douglas (Ellie), Mark and Andrew Thompson; two daughters, Deborah Thompson Marks of Sarasota Florida and Trisha Thompson Hughes; 9 grandchildren; brother Randy Thompson of Greenfield and lifelong friend Elizabeth Coy. He was a member of Park Chapel Christian Church, Greenfield, Indiana. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 10 at 6:00 p.m. in New Life Christian Fellowship, 1574 W. SR 234, Fortville, IN. Thanks to all of the friends and relatives for their prayers and Community Home Health and Hospice for their care and compassion for Gordon and our family. Donations may be made to Community Home Health and Hospice Services, 9894 E. 121st, Fishers, IN 46037. Envelopes will be available at the church. Services were entrusted to Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services , Indianapolis.
