The Rev. Dr. J. Donald Boebinger
76, Indianapolis, passed away on July 25, 2012. He was born September 26, 1935, to John & Jeanne (Sater) Boebinger. Don recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of his ordination into the Presbyterian ministry. He served as Minister of the Parish for 20 years at Second Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis, where he founded the older adult ministry as his project and thesis for his Doctor of Ministry degree. For the final seven years of his active ministry, he was pastor of White Lick Presbyterian Church Brownsburg/Avon where, upon his retirement, he was named Pastor Emeritus. Don is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol, and four sons: Rick (Loree), Greg (Karen), Doug (Jenny) and Mike (Kelly); eight grandchildren Patrick (Lily), Jonathan, Ashley, Dana, Matt, Scott, Megan, and Sara. Visitation will be on Monday, July 30, 2012 from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. followed by memorial service at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Hoosier Village Retirement Center at 9870 Cherryleaf Drive, Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Hoosier Village Chapel fund (BHI Foundation at 5415 Bearberry Lane, Indianapolis, IN 46268).
