Jane's primary interest was the well-being of her family. As a devoted mother she was very active in the children's early education at St. Joseph's Catholic School in LaPorte, Indiana and taught them to excel in chosen interests, be it sports, music, language, dance, or hobbies. She also had a passion for music and acting. Her four-octave vocal range, natural good looks, and attractive personality made her a popular choice for leading roles in the civic theatres of LaPorte and Michigan City; and later, modeling assignments in the Indianapolis area. Very early on, she and her husband Richard were members of the LaPorte Choraleers, a local singing group.
She worked at Allison Gas Turbine Div. of General Motors from 1976-1994. Her outstanding organizational and people skills served her well as the administrative assistant of the Research Lab, a truly world-class engineering & science department.
In retirement, her conservative beliefs led her to contribute as a tireless volunteer in local campaigns and elections.
Jane was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church. Calling will be held in the church vestibule on May 17th at 11:00 a.m., with Mass at 1:00 p.m. presided by Rev. George F. Plaster, friend and spiritual counselor of the family for many years; Rev. Joseph M. Feltz, Pastor of St. Malachy, will concelebrate the Mass. Burial will be at St. Malachy Cemetery, Brownsburg.
