Jeanne Ann Johnson

85, Indianapolis, passed away February 26, 2013. Jeanne was born June 4, 1927 in Indianapolis. She was the daughter of Ira and Fern Gaston (Appleget). She married Frank Johnson, her high school sweetheart, November 14th 1948. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Robert and Ira Gaston.

She is survived by her husband and their four children and spouses, Stephen and Candy Johnson, Donald and Paulette Johnson, Susan and Alasdair Gibson, and Michael and Jill Johnson, along with her 13 grandchildren, Benjamin, Stuart, Jeanne, Nathan, Francesca, Donny, Howie, Sabrina, Danny, Kelsey, Andrew, Sarah, and Nick.

Jeanne graduated from George Washington High School and attended Butler University before marrying. While at Butler, she was in the Delta Delta Delta Sorority and was a cheerleader. Known for her sparkling personality and wit, she remained active and social throughout her lifetime. Jeanne was an enthusiastic sports fan, following the Butler and Indiana University teams, along with the Indianapolis Colts. In addition, she was an avid traveller, having visited every state. A long standing member of Tri-Kappa, she also put in many hours volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Book Mobile, and the Carmelite monastery. Above all other pursuits, her greatest passion was the love of her family. Treasured by all she met, she will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday March 1, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Crown Hill Memorial Chapel. Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment: Crown Hill Cemetery. Arrangements: Crown Hill Funeral Home .
