John Rogers Cox
Of Platteville, CO passed away on December 18, 2012. John has been a leader throughout life - with his family, career and friends. Born May 5, 1941 and raised in Terre Haute, IN, he graduated from Denison University and IU School of Business. He built his family and a distinguished career in Indianapolis, IN with Indiana Bell, the State Department of Commerce and City Government. After retiring, he and his wife, Linda, relocated to Colorado in 2002 to be with their daughters and their families where they have enjoyed a wonderful life.
John is survived by his wife of 24 years, Linda Cox; former wife and mother of his children, Jane Cox; brother, Henry Cox of Brooklyn, NY; daughters, Catherine Cox, Elizabeth Cox, Emily McDonough and step-daughter, Susan Atwood; and six grandchildren, Patrick, Dean and Matthew McDonough, Josie Cox, and Michael and Melina Atwood, all of Colorado.
Highly regarded by friends and fellow employees for his intellect, integrity, sense of humor and dry wit, John was completely devoted to his family. He lived life with a smile, tenderness, a chuckle and a good word for everyone.
Husband, Dad, Brother, Grand Dad and friend- you will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. Thank you for all that you have been and for the impact you have made on our lives!
