Linda Anne Banyon Lewis
Fishers, Indiana, died peacefully with her son, Alan, at her side on March 2, 2013 after an extended illness.
Linda was born in 1943 in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Willard and Mary Louise Banyon. A 1961 Benton Harbor high school graduate, she also attended Kalamazoo College. Per her wishes, her body has been donated to Indiana University for research.
Linda married Richard Lewis in 1962 and together they had two children, Deborah and Alan. Together, Dick and Linda started Createc Corp., a successful foam packaging and auto parts producing company.
Linda always loved animals and was never without several running around her home. In 2000, she built Flat Rock Creek Farm, and personally owned several Friesians and show ponies. Up until 2012 Linda was very active in showing horses and in most competitions walked away a winner and with blue ribbons. When health issues prevented her from showing her horses, she enjoyed watching her granddaughter, Alexis, take up the reigns where she left off.
Linda is survived by her brothers, Stanley (Jill) Banyon and Stephen (Hilda) Banyon, daughter Deborah (Hal) Ecksten, son Alan (Charlotte) Lewis and grandchildren Aaron Overstreet, Beau Ecksten, Andrew Lewis, Alexis Lewis and fury friends, Maxine and Miss Lilly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Mary Louise Banyon.
A Celebration of Life service will be held May 10, 2013 at Flat Rock Creek Farm.
Memorials may be made to your local Humane Society.
