Marion English Scofield
102, of Indianapolis, passed away January 17, 2013. She was born on October 16, 1910, in White Plains, NY, to the late Charles and Eleanor Adams English. Marion graduated from Wells College, Aurora, NY, and received a B.S. degree in library science from Columbia University, NYC. She worked as a librarian at the White Plains Public Library for a number of years.
Marion was married for 57 years to the late Wilson B. Scofield. They lived in White Plains, Armonk, NY, and in retirement Dennis, MA. She loved gardening and was a talented flower arranger. Marion was an active member of several garden clubs in New York and on Cape Cod, and was a certified judge of floral arranging and horticulture. Marion's other interests included collecting, antiques and travel; she was a lifelong avid reader. Marion was a member of Downey Avenue Christian Church.
Marion will be deeply missed by her family: daughter, Holly (Robert) Sieck; grandson, Fredo Sieck; granddaughter, Leah (Bumshik) Sieck Shin; great-granddaughters, Julia and Jaclyn; and two nieces.
Interment will take place at Dennis Union Cemetery, Dennis, MA, at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Mortuaries & Crematory, Indianapolis.
