Marva Ann Maxie Tennyson

Homegoing Celebration Services for Marva Ann Maxie Tennyson will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 with viewing beginning at 9:30 - 11:00 AM, at Eastern Star Church, 5750 East 30th Street. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Marva departed this life on Sunday, December 30, 2012 while visiting in Monterey County, California.

To honor her memory and community services, the Indianapolis Area Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will conduct Marva's Omega Omega Service for family and friends on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Stuart's Mortuary, 2201 North Illinois Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.

She faithfully served on the Usher Board, the Barnabas Ministry and Project Enterprise. She was an employee for over (30) thirty years with the Federal Government's (DFAS) Defense Finance and Accounting Department and ended her service as a certified financial defense manager where she commuted weekly from Indianapolis to Washington, D.C. She was an active member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority for over thirty years, member of the National Association for Female Executives, Blacks in Government Organization and Women in Networking. Marva was involved in many other charitable efforts and organizational causes.

She touched the lives of many and leaves to mourn, her devoted and loving husband, McKinley Tennyson, Sr.; two adorable and loving sons (daughters), Mckinley Tennyson, Jr. (Heaven), and Marcellus Tennyson (Ashley); grandsons; Hezeki McKinley (Kei and Heaven) and Marcellus Eli (Marcellus and Ashley).
