Mayme Marie Bryant

104, Noblesville, IN, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011. Mayme was born on July 8, 1907 in Miland, MO to the late John William and Florence Melissa (Cattlett) Stanley.

Mayme survived many hardships and was a strong-willed woman. She took great pride in her homemaking and was a good cook. Her home was always tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. She was very concerned with her appearance and still applied her makeup every morning, even when she was over a century old! She loved beautiful clothing and insisted on being nicely dressed. Mayme was delightful, charming, mischievous, loving, refined, and had a good sense of humor. She enjoyed playing the piano and listening to music of all kinds. Her faith was very important to her. She frequently asked those around her to pray for/with her and had a portrait of Jesus above her bed, watching over her.

Mayme is survived by her loving daughter Sharon Davis, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren who referred to her as Mama Mayme. Mayme would often proudly state during large family gatherings..."WOW, look at all I started!"

Mayme was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Mildred Millett; and son Floyd Beeler. Mayme was also preceded in death by Allen Beeler whom she married in 1922 and parented Mildred and Floyd; Russell Robbins whom she married in 1934 and parented Sharon; Harry Kohr whom she married in 1947; and Leland Bryant whom she married in 1978.

Forest Lawn Funeral Home is assisting the family during their loss. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. Those wishing to attend the service are requested to meet at the funeral home for procession.
