Michael David Griffin
64, of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, died on October 17, 2013 in Amsterdam, unexpectedly from heart failure. He was born in Indianapolis on July 1, 1949 and moved to Amsterdam in 1976. Michael studied English and Psychology at Indiana University in Bloomington. He retired from Elsevier Publishing Company in Amsterdam, where he worked as an editor. Michael was an artist, and his works were expressionistic in nature, all oil on canvas. He traveled throughout Europe participating in art shows. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herschell D. and Pearl M. Griffin and a brother, Harold Rominger. He is survived by his spouse, Oscar Ramirez Londono of Amsterdam; one brother, Steven Griffin (Barbara); one sister, Patricia Griffin (Lance Ratliff) and one sister-in-law, Barbara Rominger (wife of brother, Harold Rominger). Michael is also survived by one niece, Kristen Rominger Bullock and two nephews, Mark Rominger and Matthew Griffin. Special friends are Gerard Kany and Peter Tammens of Amsterdam and Marcia Hancock of Indianapolis. According to his wishes, he will be cremated.
