Mildred "Evahn" Thomas Stevens
90, of Clayton, died March 9, 2013 at IU Hospital West. She was born March 22, 1922 in Clarence (Pulaski Co.), KY to John R. and Lillie P. (Bloomer) Thomas. "Evahn" married James T. "Jimmy" Stevens, Sr., in 1939 He preceded her in death in 2001. She was a homemaker most of her life, and had worked as a bearing inspector at McQuay Norris and at the Danners Variety Store warehouse, both in Indianapolis. She was a member of the Clayton Christian Church, the Red Hat Society, and served as a volunteer at Hendricks Regional Health Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in the church with visitation there from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in Clayton Cemetery. Survivors include her children, Nancy Wagenknecht, Brownsburg, Judy (Joe) Major, Danville, KY, Karen (Dick) Sloan, Indpls., James "Tom" (Patsy) Stevens, Jr., Clayton, Patricia (Les) Hansel, Indpls.; 21 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
