Norma J. Lomax
age 77, of Connersville, passed away on Tuesday January 21, 2014 at her residence. Born on December 30, 1936 in Connersville, she is the daughter of Mary J. Vail Shires of Connersville and the late Bryan H. Shires.
Norma graduated from Connersville High School in 1955 and is a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. She married Henry "Joe" Lomax on June 25, 1966 at the Central Christian Church in Connersville and they had spent many years living in various places with his military service.
For several years she had worked as a secretary. She went on to graduate from Cosmetology School and for many years worked as a beautician in the various areas in which they lived. She later took additional schooling and became a licensed real estate agent and she worked in Indianapolis at Naval Avionics for ten years.
In her leisure time she enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Later on in life she began painting with acrylics and water colors.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Shires; her husband, Joe; three sons, Terry R. Good and wife Carla of New Palestine, IN, Jeffrey H. Good and wife Jane of Denver, CO and Christopher L. Good of Canton, MI; five grandchildren, Samantha Lantz and husband Andrew of Greenfield, Keegan Good and Delaney Good of Denver, CO and Emily Good and Sydney Good of Canton, MI; and two great grandchildren, Mason and Hunter Lantz.
Funeral services were conducted at Urban Winkler Funeral Home in Connersville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church Pantry Fund in Connersville or to Reid Hospice.
