Paul F. "Poppi" Dufek
85 of Indianapolis passed away November 26, 2012. He was born March 12, 1927 in Indianapolis to Peter Jr. and Marie (Bannert) Dufek.
Paul was a '45 graduate of Cathedral High School and a '50 graduate of Butler University. Paul was a Navy Veteran of WW II. He was retired from DuBois Chemicals. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Msgr. Downey Council, American Legion Post 331 and a charter member of the Woodshires. He was also a member of the Cathedral Classmates '45 Singers which was one of his greatest joys.
Paul was married to his beloved wife K. Florence (Zener) for 61 years. They were married June 2, 1951 in St. Anthony Catholic Church. He is also survived by his daughters. Paula (Dennis) DeLong, Suzanne (Robert) Mulligan; brothers, Jerry (Betty) Dufek, Don (Cathy) Dufek, John (Kay) Dufek; sister in law, Donna Dufek; grandchildren, Kelly Palmer, Chuck, Angela, and Denise DeLong, Bobby, Kasey and Jack Mulligan; 2 great grandsons along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred and Jim.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Paul will be celebrated on 11am Friday, November 3o, 2012 at St. Christopher Catholic Church. Friends may call from 9:30am until the time of services on Friday at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kelly Palmer Transplant Fund in care of the funeral home or to St. Christopher Catholic Church. Usher Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
